well, it's been awhile since I last updated my blog. Hella shit has happened since then, mostly good but some bad. I am writing this blog at my aunt's house in Brisbane, Australia. I went to Australia for 3 reasons: 1) To attend my cousin's wedding, 2) to get my resident visa, and 3) to go on a trip! In fact, I just got back yesterday from a 10-day trip to various tourist attractions in Australia. We first started off in Sydney, which in my opinion wasn't all that. We spent 4 days there, which was 2 too many. The highlight of the Sydney trip was that I was able to go to the famed opera house (although I didn't get to watch a show...how fucking sick would it be to watch Phantom there???). I touched the tiles of the Sydney Opera house....1 wonder of the world down, 7 more to go! From Sydney we went to Ayer's Rock (in Uluru), which is in the middle of Australia, in the heart of the Outback. That shit was pretty cool. I got to hang out with Aboriginees and learn more about their culture. The sights were amazing...besides chilling at the Uluru, we also went on a 3 hour hike up King's Canyon, which is culturally relevant to another Aboriginal tribe. From Ayer's Rock we went to Cairne, located in the northern part of Queensland. I had the opportunity to go snorkeling in Australia's Great Barrier Reef, which I found to be completely exhilirating! It was easily one of the better experiences in my short life. I got to swim in the reef and see all the colorful reef fishes and sharks and shit. And, to my utter delight/despair, the Japanese tourist girls were freaking amazing.......................................................school girl heaven..................................... next time I go I will make sure I am fluent in Japanese....although all I really need to know is BUKAKEEEEE!!!! And now I'm back in Brisbane bored out of my mind and missing my girlfriend who is impatiently waiting for me back in Taipei. I am missing her birthday this friday and I feel hen fai chang nan guo =( For all you guys back home, my military med school interview is on 11/30. I'll be seeing you guys in a few weeks... PS Australians have a freaking strange lingo. I don't understand what they are saying half the time, even though we speak the same damn language! Example 1: Me: (Standing at the bar waiting to be served) Bartender: (Looks at me) You alright? Me: (Confused as hell) Yeah...I'm fine? (Thinking, why the hell are you asking me how I am doing?) Bartender: Uh....ok.... (turns and leaves) Cousin: Dude, "You alright?" means do you want a drink? Me: Shit....fucking australians! |
